The Impressive Komodo Dragon.

First, meet the impressive Komodo dragon that currently lives in Indonesia. However, even with records, the true origin of these reptiles is still unknown to this day. However, several fossil remains of these dragons have been found east of Australia. Therefore, it is assumed that they have existed for around four million years.

Furthermore, these lizards are giant and usually weigh as much as a human, in addition to being poisonous. Therefore, it is necessary to be careful if your curiosity is so great that you come very close to see it. So, don't come close to crossing paths with one, to avoid risks.

However, if your curiosity and courage are as great as these dragons, then you can visit parks that preserve Komodo dragons. In short, parks like these are common on Indonesian islands.

Do you know the Bactrian Camel?

Probably, if you've ever seen a camel up close you might think it's similar to this one. However, it is usually not the same species. Although Middle Eastern camels arose through the Bactrian camel, they have some different characteristics.

Furthermore, these Bactrian camels went through a process of evolution due to the fact that they lived in very low temperatures millions of years ago. Furthermore, they don't have two huge humps for nothing, they serve to store fat.

However, there was a time when these rare animals almost became extinct. Hence the concern about preserving them. Furthermore, it is possible to find Bactrian camels in reservoirs available for tourist visits. Not to mention the possibility of going to the annual Thousand Camel Festival in Mongolia.

The Echidna and Vicuña Are Also Prehistoric Animals.

Now, meet the Echidna, another prehistoric and also somewhat bizarre creature. In reality, many think it is the result of a combination between a porcupine, an anteater and a badger. The animal is a primitive mammal, but it lays eggs to bring babies into the world.

Like other prehistoric animals, this one is also rarely seen in the wild. Because, in addition to having a nocturnal life, they are also solitary and ancient animals, dating back more than 17 million years on earth.

Finally, another animal from prehistoric times is the vicuña. They have a standard color, ranging from white on the underside to brown on almost the entire body. However, vicuñas almost became extinct due to hunting after the fall of the Incas (their main protectors). But, over time, many defenders managed to reverse this situation and there are currently thousands of vicuñas in the wild.

Final considerations.

However, we use the names of prehistoric animals only as a paradoxical definition. Thus, the term was used informally to classify modern species with physical characteristics close to those of ancestors that long ago ceased to exist.

Therefore, these species are very well adapted to today's world. So, you liked this article about animals that are prehistoric and still exist, that we prepared today. If so, we invite you to access our “Curiosities” category and find out much more about this and other topics.
