Technologies that Exist in Football.

Announcement

Obviously, current technological advances are always about making improvements in people's lives. Therefore, these technologies are increasingly integrated into the world of sports. Therefore, football is currently using improvements on and off the field. Furthermore, with the end of the pandemic and the return of championships, it is necessary to use tools of this type. So, see below technologies that exist in football for these improvements.

Above all, football is famous for the emotion caused through the fascinating sport. For this reason, there are fans of the game all over the world. Furthermore, it is important to highlight that years ago, the technology was used in a landmark game. Where, in 2018 at the World Cup, its use was as important as the famous athletes.

On the other hand, every football fan knows that it can cause several controversies when it comes to the use of technology in sport. However, it has still been present for a few years now. For example, the use of VAR, which is a type of video assistant referee. Well, this is one of the most used football technologies lately.

Use of Smart Balls.

Therefore, one of the technologies that promises to innovate on football fields is the use of the “smart ball” with a built-in sensor. Furthermore, this ball was invented through corporations. Thus, this technology consists of a network of receivers around the field. As a result, these receivers capture the position of the ball in real time and with great precision.

Furthermore, the moment the ball crosses the goal line, the referees are notified immediately. Therefore, the available information is passed on through a smartwatch receiver according to the referee.

Furthermore, generally all these official balls, used in official matches, are later also used in the European Leagues and several other American Leagues. In fact, it is worth highlighting that most African Leagues only use smart balls.

Use of Technology on the Goal Line.

Generally, the most important part of a match for any referee is knowing whether it actually happened or whether it was just a near goal. Therefore, the use of Goal-Line technology began at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Not to mention, it was also a fundamental tool used in Russia at the 2018 World Cup.

Therefore, this GLT (Goal-Line) technology has around 14 cameras capable of recording around 500 frames per second. Afterwards, the images are sent through a system to process the images. Therefore, the balls are monitored during the match to pinpoint the exact moment they crossed the goal line. Thus, the captured signal is sent directly to the referee's watch.

However, it is necessary to take into account some principles for the goal line system to be successful. Therefore, this technology can only be applied to decisions related to the goal line. Therefore, the system must have 100% accuracy in the information sent to the referee.

Falcon's Eye Technology.

Finally, the latest technology was first used in 2001 by the British company Hawk-Eye Innovations Ltd. In addition, many tests were carried out, all of which were successful.

In this way, the ranking is led by systems under development. Therefore, the system began to be tested in several other sports.

However, the Football version has been tested much more due to the satisfactory performance presented. Therefore, three cameras are used focusing on the goal lines, with approximately 600 frames being filmed every second.

Final considerations.
